Trade Criteria

The Buy, Sell, Short Sell, and Cover Short pages allow you to set separate rules for entering and exiting trades. As a minimum, you must enter either Buy or Short Sell criteria. You do not need to enter Sell or Cover Short criteria if all trades are to be closed by stops.

Buy

Choose the criteria which will cause a new long position to be opened.

A new long position will only be created if the symbol meets the 'prioritize multiple symbols' rules on the test strategy page.

Sell

Choose the criteria which will cause an existing long position to be closed.

Short Sell

Choose the criteria which will cause a new short position to be opened.

A new short position will only be created if the symbol meets the 'prioritize multiple symbols' rules on the test strategy page.

Cover Short

Choose the criteria which will cause an existing short position to be closed.
